You know you're not well when you dream of finding the long lost top to your toilet bowl tank...

I still don't know where my toilet tank top is hiding. I've literally checked the entire house and I can't find it.

:(

So I got a new job at GoDaddy! It's a big task however I'm sure I'll be kicking ass and taking names with the job. When I was thinking about how daunting the job will be, I couldn't help but remember a quote I once heard long ago. It goes something like:

I will focus with an intensity so great that my target fills my world. So large, that it cannot be missed.

To you guys/gals who are out there working hard and kicking ass just like me. Keep up the good work, it will undoubtedly pay off.

So what's the worst thing that can happen when you're painting the bathroom?

- Not taping off your borders correctly and getting a little bleeding of the paint? nah.
- Buying fixtures that won't fit and having to take them back to get smaller ones? nah.
- Having to get a different medicine cabinet because it doesn't match anymore? nah.
- Smelling paint fumes waft into your master bedroom from a vent or an open door? nah.
- Forgetting where you put the toilet tank cover after you're all done? Bingo!

Aw fuck- where the hell did I put it?

Today I typed something that irks me. It's something that I wrote that just flowed out of my fingers w/o an editable moment and it scared me... I wrote:

"i live my life trying not to be cumbersome to others."

Now there's nothing wrong with being courteous towards others. And I certainly wouldn't want to hamper the ability of others to enjoy their lives. However, the way I worded the sentence suggests that my life undoubtedly is cumbersome to others and only when coupled with my proactive approach to NOT be cumbersome can I feel comfortable in life.

That attitude towards life is fucking crazy!

I suspect it stems from my childhood where I grew up in a somewhat conservative environment. That sounds as though I'm blaming my childhood however there are a lot of good things that came from my upbringing... family trips to Mexico, Canada, NYC, my brother and I hanging out in Hong Kong and walking on the Great Wall of China.

The trips to other places at such a young age helped me see the different lifestyles people go through and helped me mature faster than my peers with a broader perspective of life in mind. Taking that into account, my parents always taught my brother and I about self awareness and to consider how our actions can affect others.

This forever hanging cloud of the 'domino effect' lingered in my mind as far back as I can remember and when I think about my behavior when I was little- I can see now how my past behavior could be motivated by that 'domino effect' lingering in my mind.

Now I'm not blaming my parents and undoubtedly they will read this [hi mom and dad] so don't feel blamed. My parents are pretty hip for being Chinese parents however Chinese parents are a lot more conservative than their Caucasian equals. With that in consideration, do a lot of Chinese families live with this 'domino effect' over their heads? This isn't even limited to the Chinese side of the Asian house. I'm sure a large percentage of Asians have that menality and that's probably why we're labeled as the 'model minority' when compared to other minority groups.

I dunno- whatcha think?

So it's been a wild week. Work has been going good and stuff outside of work hasn't been that bad either.

10 cool things about this past week:

1) I bought a few cool DVDs. School of Rock and Pirates of the Caribbean.
2) I showed some templates and a few ideas I had in mind to a few people at work. You can check them out here.
3) I found out that my Mom is going to throw the opening pitch on Mother's Day at this Sunday's baseball game over at the Bank One Ballpark.
4) My parents are here right now at the house watching School of Rock. Hahah!
5) The pool in the backyard is no longer a mysterious chemistry experiment with chemicals I know nothing about and we can finally swim in it again!
6) I had dinner with the e-board from ASU's AKPsi chapter at Claim Jumper.
7) I found this song
8) I took a feather boa to work for my top rep to wear or put on their monitor when they do really good. How many places do you get to sport a feather boa?? :)
9) Zach dislocated his arm earlier this week. Jackie's knee is supposed to be better soon. She's been running around on crutches for the past week and a half. Wayne is on crutches now... he sprained his ankle this week. These things aren't really cool things but this is more of a tribute.
10) I played catch with my mom today so she could practice for tomorrow's ballgame. I think this will be the biggest crowd my mom's ever been in front of in her whole life. Good luck Mom! Happy Mother's Day!

Today was a great day. I woke up this morning and hopped out of bed and began to change the light switches and the electrical outlets downstairs. I watched a movie, went to Goodwill to drop off some stuff I hadn't played with in the past year, washed my car, went to go see the parents, took them and Zach to dinner, and talked with Angie, my awesome kick ass rockstar friend who has been super busy recently at AT&T.

So the high intellectual horsepower rockstar hot-momma Angie tells me about this program that she came across on the web. It's a program where you can contribute your unused computer system resources to help make calculations for valuable medical research.

Check it out here!!

I signed up today!

Thanks bebbers!! You always turn me on to cool stuff. ;)
