Add me to the list of people dissatisfied with Best Buy...
Thank goodness they offer a feedback page... I just entered in the following:
First, I don't purchase a lot of stuff on BestBuy.com because I've heard of the horror stories but thought I would give it a try.
I strongly regret it now.
I think it is absolutely STUPID that a bestbuy.com purchase for a TV that is delivered to the house CANNOT be returned to a Best Buy store.
Here's my Best Buy experience:
On Black Friday, I went online to purchase a 56" DLP tv as a Christmas gift for my parents. I wasn't able to have the TV delivered to their house since the credit card being billed was my address. I understand fraud risks so that's fine.
To make sure they were happy with it, I moved the TV from my house to their house. Unfortunately they wanted a flat panel TV and the TV does not work with a computer (as promised by a Best Buy employee). Ok - whatever, I'll just return the TV to the local Best Buy and we'll pick up a flat panel TV.
So we load up the TV and go to the local Best Buy to swap it for a flat panel TV. I knew I'd be spending more money but that's fine - this is supposed to be a great gift for my parents.
We get to Best Buy and they turn us away saying televisions purchased online cannot be returned to the actual store.
What?!
How is that not possible? I have a receipt, I have the TV, I have delivered it to the store to return it and I want to spend more money at your cash registers for a flat panel for my parents and you turn me away?!
The store says I have to have the TV picked up from my house! So I take it back and call up 1-888-best-buy and the rep on the phone tells me there will be a 40-80 dollar fee to return the TV.
Huh!? You want to pick it up and charge me for the pick up after I just took it to the store and got denied to exchange it and spend more money for a flat panel TV???
This isn't even remotely fair.
I don't plan on buying a TV from Best Buy... I'll just go to Costco.
Thanks.
Clifford
In other news, there's a nice TV on Craigslist for sale... has about 20 minutes of run time on it and you can scoop it up for a couple hundred less than what it goes for at Best Buy.
Also - "someone" I know launched a site for selling HID kits.
:) cool!
