This is unbelievable... I just read an article on Yahoo.com about how the U.S. is setting new duties on products from China.

Here is a snippet:

Anger over the U.S. trade deficit with China, which hit a record $233 billion last year, has spurred demands for a tougher response to Chinese government subsidies, which many U.S. lawmakers believe are fueling that country's exports.

"China's economy has developed to the point that we can add another trade remedy tool, such as the countervailing duty law," U.S. Commerce Secretary

Carlos Gutierrez told reporters.

How about this - maybe we get U.S. lawmakers to focus on getting U.S. companies to produce things to help even out the trade deficit. One of the obvious things is concrete and steel since China is sucking up a majority of the world's resources of those commodities. How about we focus on PRODUCTIVE industries instead of DESTRUCTIVE goods like missles, bombs, etc that get sold to other countries. *cough*IRAQ*cough* Don't believe me? Read this nytimes archived article.

What really gets me is that the U.S. lawmakers are "Angry" at China for exporting a ton more stuff to us than we can export to them. That type of attitude coming from a country that exudes capitalism just makes it that much more ironic.

Carlos Gutierrez and Alberto Gonzales aka "Brownie" as named by Bush are morons.

I always hear about people buying TVs for the Superbowl show and then returning them shortly after thereby screwing over the store that sold it in the first place by throwing off their sales numbers with huge dollar returns.

Well, I think I'm going to have to return a TV. :( It's been a great TV but it just died after 19 months of use and it cost me about $1,750. Thankfully I purchased it from CostCo and I found the receipt! :) I think I'm going to have to get a 60" this time around. Wooooooo!
